Prima Donna

Prima Donna is a rock n roll band from Los Angeles formed in 2003 featuring singer/guitarist Kevin Preston, Saxophonist/Keyboardist Aaron Minton, drummer David S. Field, bassist Dan Nyby, and guitarist Erik Arcane.

Their sound features saxophone, piano and organ, along with a guitar sound which has been described as "the best damn glampunkrock'n'roll ... Prima Donna goes for that timeless Dolls/Heartbreakers/Mott the Hoople sound and they pull it off perfectly".

In May/June 2005, the band went on an eight country European concert tour with Texas Terri. In December 2005, the band played part of original Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock and the Philistines American tour.

In the fall of 2007, Prima Donna featured a new track from their upcoming release entitled "Soul Stripper". It can be heard on the band's Myspace.

In a video interview with Eric Blair backstage at the premiere of Punk's Not Dead on May 30 2007, Prima Donna talks about how they were formed, what they're currently doing, and their future.

As of May 2008, Kevin Preston is also playing guitar in the Green Day side project Foxboro Hot Tubs.

Rodney Bingenheimer put the Prima Donna song "Demoted" into his KROQ radio show rotation on July 27, 2008.

Prima Donna released their new album, "After Hours", on Sept. 2, 2008 on Acetate Records.

In the spring of 2009 Prima Donna toured the U.S. with Eddie and the Hot Rods and later with Duane Peters Gunfight.

Prima Donna opened for the European Green Day tour in 2009.

En résumé, Prima Donna, c'est un groupe qui sonne un peu comme les Foxboro Hot Tubs (et pour cause, Kevin Preston fait partie de FHT avec GD), mais en différent. C'était la première partie de GD sur la tournée Européenne 2009.

J'ai pas tellement aimé ça enfaite pour Green Day

Disons que leur album est ULTRA répétitif, mais perso y'a des chansons que j'aime bien (Demoted, Soul Stripper) mais bon ça va pas chercher bien loin c'est vrai.

Et sinon j'ai trouvé que ça passait pas trop mal en première partie.
